Maersk Intrepid rig cleared for Martin Linge production drilling

Petroleum Safety Authority has given Statoil consent to use the Maersk Intrepid mobile drilling facility for production drilling on the Martin Linge field in the North Sea.

The consent covers the drilling of top-hole sections for production wells on the Martin Linge field, where Statoil is the operator.

The drilling operations are estimated to take 21 days (42 days including options). The planned start-up is early May 2018.

Maersk Intrepid

Maersk Intrepid is a jack-up drilling facility, delivered by the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore in 2014. The facility is owned by Maersk AS and operated by Maersk Drilling Norge AS.

The facility was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in 2014.

Martin Linge

The Martin Linge field is in the North Sea, 42 kilometres west of the Oseberg field and close to the UK sector. Water depth in the area is 115 metres.

The field is in development.
